'Apocalypse Fraction' - Wraith

Development for a character I had to create for a college brief, 'Apocalypse Fraction' - a third-person post-apocalyptic shooter game. The themes of the game were overtly militaristic, though we ultimately had free reign over our character and how their design would be influenced and generally handled.
As a result, I decided to opt for a 'ghostly' kind of aesthetic, something that I felt was befitting of the lone wolf surveyed target audience members felt that they wanted out of the character.

I'm not too happy with the quantity of work produced, though that was primarily down to a rather short amount of time we had to work on our characters. From here up to now, I feel as though I've made some very apparent improvement!

Initial development sketches - from the get-go I'd decided I wanted to get an enigmatic feel from the character, hence my immediate helmet and mask studies.

Further development, building off of some of the preferred designs from the previous sheet - due to the short amount of time we had to work on the project, I focused on maximising the amount of development I could do in a minimal amount of pages.

Simple colour iteration - this allowed me to explore the character in terms of how colours could convey mood or even something like a style of combat.
